For Faggioli victory and record in Bistrica that earn him the tenth European title

 
The Florentine racer surpasses the number of continental championships of Nesti
 
Simone Faggioli, racer of Best Lap, on board of his Norma M20 FC Zytek with tires Pirelli, became on Sunday for the tenth time in his career European Champion Mountain FIA, thanks to the victory at the Ilirska Bistrica, in Slovenia, in the penultimate stage of the agenda.
Doing this way the Florentine racer is the first in history to have conquered ten European titles, ahead of the 9 of the good racer Mauro Nesti.
 
The changeable weather had not let Faggioli realizing adequate warm-up laps during the rounds of Saturday because of the continuous downpours, but on Sunday during the Race Faggioli established the new record of the layout with the time of 1’59” 558, stopwatch he then re-confirmed also in the second rise.
Sore point of the day the retreat of the opponent Christian Merli on Osella FA30 during the second round of the race because of a switching off of the car at the start, absence that left everyone speechless and embittered for the missed sport “duel” between the two racers.
At the end of the day Faggioli can’t still celebrate with his team because the sport is made of direct competition and he regrets this missed possibility: ”I’ m happy for my tenth European title, but at the same time I’m sorry for what happened to Christian. I should have preferred to finish the Championship in another way after a season battled with him at very high levels. Only we know the sacrifices we do and similar things happened to me too; I understand very well  his disillusion and I regret it with him. We embraced when I came back to the paddock and I think this means a lot for both. I esteem him and he knows it.

Faggioli is considering the possibility to be at the start of the last race of the European Championship in Buzet, in Croatia, the 16^th and the 17^th of September, in order to finish the season with all the guys and racers of the Team.
